We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your many prayers. It is the most important thing you can do for us and especially for this broken nation.
Yesterday was Mardi Gras and for the first time in the history of the country, they cancelled Mardi Gras, and the President and Congress called for a National Holiday, 5 days of prayer with "Fat Tuesday" culminating as the last day of prayer. Many of us have been praying for Haiti that God would change the peoples hearts. Maybe God has spoken to them and they are listening. Please continue to pray for this broken Nation and that a God fearing Nation will arise and proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We recently took in a mother and her 9 year old daughter named Mika. Mika along with her father and siblings were on the bottom floor of their two story appartment bldg, when in collapsed during the earthquake. Her dad and siblings were killed and Mika was rescued 8 hours later with severe injuries to her feet. Her mom eventually got her to the Port Au Prince airport to find medical treatment for her. A dear supporter of HHH Gregg Bennett, who was leading an Orthopedic surgical team, was trying to get his team to the Pignon hospital, to help victims who would eventually be medivacted from Port. He was a little frustrated why he was stuck in Port and secretly wondered why this was happening. He and his team spent the night in a tent on the tarmac, and the next day someone approached them with Mika and asked them if they knew any Ortho docs who could help her. He then got his answer of why he was delayed in Port. With in a few hours they were on a military helicopter with Mika to Pignon.
After examining her at the hospital they decided both of her feet needed to be amputated. Mika refused and her mom supported her desicion. They told her if they didnt amputate she could die from infection. She still refused. This upset the team as they had fallen in love with this bright little girl. They prayed about it and then left it in God's hands. After a few days infection began to set in and she finally agreed to a partial amputation. The doctors amputated half of her left foot and 3 of her toes on her right foot. Before Gregg returned to the States, he asked us if we would take her and her mom in until she fully recovered and we agreed. So she will stay with us for a month or so until she can walk again. Please pray for Mika and her mom as they have lost everything and have no family here. Mika's mom's family all live on the island of Lagonave, and so that is were they will go when Mika can walk again.
Last Saturday I drove to Port to get a 10 year old boy named Peter. Both of his parents and siblings were killed in the quake. A doctor who was working at a field hospital there, befriended Peter and contacted us about Peter's situation. He asked if we would consider taking him into the Haiti Home of Hope. Guess what we said? You guessed it, we said yes!! He learned to ride a bike for the first time within a couple of hours arriving. He seems very happy to be here.
We had hoped to pick up 9 other kids from the Oasis orphanage, that was damaged in the quake, but the workers decided not to give them to us at this time. Please pray with us about this situation. The Stateside director wants desperately to get them to a safe place but the workers are not cooperating.
Today our home church purchased a 2006 Chevy Silverado, 4x4, heavy duty, 3/4 ton pick up truck for the HHH ministry. It has 42,000 miles on it and in excellent shape.
We praise God for this blessing and answer to prayer. Thank you to those of you who gave financially toward this purchase. They hope to ship over to Haiti soon.
We are grateful for all of you who have given, prayed and shipped supplies to us to help some of the many displaced victims of the earthquake that hit South Haiti.
We have been able to help over 100 families who have moved into Pignon to escape the devistation in South Haiti. We hope to help 100 more God willing.
God bless you.
Gratefully, Bill and Jennifer
Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund
Many have asked how they could help the orphanage and the people of Haiti. The very best way to help right now is by sending monetary donations.
It is very difficult to receive items at this point in time since the only shipments being allowed into Haiti are for relief efforts.
We work with Missionary Flights International (MFI) to recieve most of our items and they are focused on relief work at this time.
We will not receive any shipments from MFI for some time.
The biggest help to our Orphanage at this time would be monetary donations.
We have set up a Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. This fund will be used to provide food to the overflow of hospital patients, orphans, and temporary workers.
This fund will also be used in providing extra fuel that will be used to run the generators to alleviate the additional use of electricity, pump well water, and power other things.
We'll also use this fund to import much needed medical supplies to the orphanage. We'll need to hire additional temporary employees to help with the additional children and patients.
We may also need to buy building supplies to build beds, temporary housing, etc.
We greatly appreciate all donations and thank you for your support! Please indicate that this donation is for Haiti Home of Hope or Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.

Haiti Home of Hope is operated by Red Bridge Baptist Church which is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt non-profit organization.
Should you feel led to make a donation to our ministry, your gift will be tax deductible on your tax return (if you itemize your deductions).
You will receive a receipt for each donation, and a yearly giving statement for tax filing purposes.
Adoptions:
We have had many inquiries asking for information about adopting orphans from Haiti or temporarily housing children.
Haiti Home of Hope does not adopt the children out. Our goal is to raise a godly generation of kids who will eventually go back out and make a positive impact on their community.
With all the devastation to the local Haitian government, the best place to seek information about adoptions at this point would be the U.S. State Department.
